On Friday 2/10/2020 Athens Solidarity Center hosted a registration day of the vocational training NGO “Odyssea”.
During this event, Odyssea’s associates made an introduction on their vocational training programs: cooking, bartender & barista (coffee & cocktail making), hotel & hospitality, woodworking, plumbing, electrician, entrepreneurship, programming, networks & IT repairing, sales, social media marketing, make up & nails and some new courses that will be announced soon.
The above training courses are offered for free to people from vulnerable groups (unemployed, poor, refugees, immigrants). Upon the completion of the courses a certificate is provided and the Livelihood Department of the organization do some activities of matching the graduate trainees with relevant work opportunities.
In the event, after the information session, the Odyssea’s experts interviewed each beneficiary individually, so to get an idea of their background as well as their educational needs. Participants also had the opportunity not only to get registered in their preferable course but also to suggest what they need/want to learn, so a relevant course may be designed in the near future.
